Cool series by Simon Davidson, a New Zealand-born photographer based in Sydney.A self-taught photographer, Simon Davidson has become one of the leading photographers in Australia. His impressive portfolio contains both advertising and editorial work, but Davidson’s true love remains automotive photography – muscle cars and car culture in particular. Simon aims to capture the essence of the culture, and The Burnout Series is a perfect example. 
More than artistic photos, the dynamic images display an expressive type of beauty. Enveloped in colorful smoke, the vehicles seem to move. One almost hears the revving engines and smells fuel and burned tires while admiring the photographs. White, pink or light blue clouds partly cover the cars. The dramatic setting mirrors the adrenaline running through the drivers’ veins. Skillfully captured by the photographer, the passion which drives the members of the movement remains the focus of the series.
