July 1958.Penso che un sogno così non ritorni mai più, mi dipingevo le mani e la faccia di blu.Domenico Modugno sang these words in the summer of that year, and the song soon became the soundtrack of that period, a symbol of rebirth of the country and of the dreamy atmospheres of the Dolce Vita aboard the 500 Jolly Ghia.
The song was presented for the first time by Modugno himself paired with Johnny Dorelli at the 1958 Sanremo Festival, winning the edition until it became one of the most famous Italian songs abroad.Curious also that the word that opens the refrain, Volare, also became the alternative title of the song, deposited in SIAE.
July 2018.60 years later Fiat celebrates the Cinquino by bringing back on the road one of the most representative icons of that time thanks to the special series 500 Spiaggina ’58.In this project, Volare has become a colour, the Azzurro (Volare, in fact) that stands out on the livery of the 1958 numbered examples produced by the house of Turin, strictly convertible with beige top, embellished by the white beauty line.
July 2019.A year later we launched Icon-e, our project that gives a second life to the cars that have made history through the electric redevelopment. In short, a return to the past but with a look to the future and awareness of the present. The present points the way for restomod, with a special focus on sustainability and ecology and also opens up new market opportunities.
