Targa Florio 2021 - Medio Circuito delle Madonie

212 crews from all over the world will compete over a distance of 590 kilometres. This year race is dedicated to Ninni Vaccarella.
On Saturday, we were in Palermo for the 105th edition of the Targa Florio Classica 2021, named after the great Nino Vaccarella, the “preside volante”, the icon of Italy and his Sicily in the world with his motoring exploits.The event organised by Aci Palermo in collaboration with Automobile Club d’Italia and ACI Storico ended on Sunday 17 October with the victory of the crew Moceri-Dicembre, on a 1939 Fiat 508 C, ahead of the new Italian champions Passanante-Moretti and Accardo-Becchina.This year the race saw the participation of over 200 cars from 18 countries. There were many historical models in the race, starting with the most emblematic and exclusive models of the Cavallino for the usual Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio and other splendid vintage cars: Fiat, Maserati, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Bentley and many others.
We followed the second day: 228 Km on the “Circuito di Polizzi”, commonly called “Medio Circuito delle Madonie”, on the roads where the Targa was born and still lives, where the myth of the oldest car race in the world is still alive.The competitors left the University of Palermo at 9.30 a.m., heading towards Floriopoli. This famous grandstand also houses the pits of the speed version of the Targa Florio. Cerda, Caltavuturo, Polizzi Generosa, Collesano and Campofelice di Roccella were the places crossed by the race until the arrival at the Historical Museum of Engines and Mechanisms.
Sicily great charm colours the day to the many activities for the event protagonists.
