The new BMW 8 Series by Jeff Koons

Sporty, flashy, minimalist and conceptual. This is how Jeff Koons, one of the most important contemporary artists of recent years and considered the icon par excellence of the so-called neo-pop style, defines his BMW 8 Series. It is a BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, created with 11 different exterior colors, ranging from the dominant blue to silver, but also yellow and black. A car that, in its paintwork, embodies all the characteristics of American pop art: from the presence of the comic strip to the use of the vibrant tone of color. A solution that also involves the leather interior, completely painted in red and blue, also typical Pop Art colors.
The collaboration between Bmw Serie 8, already tightened in 2010 on the occasion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has led today to the creation of The 8x Jeff Koons, available in 99 colorful examples, the first of which was exhibited in February 2022 during Frieze Los Angeles, an international trade fair giant. The car will then be displayed at Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, New York. A model signed by Jeff Koons will then be auctioned at Christieʼs in New York on April 4, with proceeds going to the NGO International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC).
The car will be produced in only two units per week. The price is on request. All info at the8xjeffkoons@bmw.com.
